No surprise that doing periodic colonics will help keep you from getting sick from a cold or suffering from the Flu, Pneumonia or Coronavirus. Since you do colonics with us in Portland, Oregon at Colon Care Colonics, or thinking about it, you already know colonics clears out the colon of excess waste and mucus, along with harmful pathogens, parasites, and damaging toxins. You know colonics improve the tone, peristalsis and shape of a colon. You know that keeping a colon healthy and happy is a great way to not get sick. Because it’s common sense to know that a colon filled with putrefying fermenting crap is a great way to get diseased. So this blog is not about the incredible benefits of colonics, also known as colon hydrotherapy and colon cleanse. This blog is about the other three things you can do to never get sick. Truly, never catch a cold or even worry about the dreaded coronavirus. And if you do get sick, by doing these things, you will suffer far less and get well much quicker!
So what is the first thing you can do to PREVENT ever getting sick? First, I got to give a disclaimer. Since I’m not a doctor, I don’t diagnose treat or prescribe. I am an educator and give people information. If you use this information for your own wellness without talking with your doctor, that is your decision and you assume all risk for doing so. In no way am I saying you should do this or take this. Just answering the question from an education point of view and suggesting you research and consider some things.
So, what is the #1 thing you could do to prevent getting sick? Consider taking Vitamin C. No surprise there? Well you might be thinking, “did that and it did not work”. Hmmmm. Did you take enough? I ask people all the time, “Do you take Vitamin C”? And they say oh yes, I take it every day. So I then ask, “How much Vitamin C do you take and how often during the day”. They say “once in the morning and about 1000 mg” is the average response. I smile. I understand why they think that is a lot of Vitamin C since the FDA states humans only need 60 mg a day. I can hardly restrain myself from laughing every time I read the FDA recommendations. The research shows that those who took Vitamin C in higher doses and 3 times a day with meals had extraordinary success in both not getting sick and in treating horrible pneumonia. (1).
So how much C should you take to never get sick? Well that depends on the person. As Andrew Saul, whose mentor was Dr Abram Hoffer, and of whom, whose mentor was Dr Linus Pauling, always says,
“Take Enough C to Be Symptom Free,...
Whatever That Might Be” !
That really means what it says it means. If you have a sniffle or any symptom of getting a cold, you might consider taking vitamin C till it goes a way. That might mean 2000 mg three times a day or even 2000 mg every 6 minutes if you already have the flu. This is when people say how much do YOU take? They ask this like some guide that they should follow in how much they should take. What I need is going to be completely different than you, or your spouse or your child depending on their size and health condition. And your health conditions varies. Do you have a tooth infection, ear infection, fungal toe infection going on? How about super stressed at work or going through loss? You will need far more Vitamin C than if you don’t have these things going on. So how will you know how much Vitamin C to take? Vitamin C is water soluble which means it’s not going to hurt you if you take too much or take it every day. Dr Linus Pauling took 18,000 mg every day for 40 years. He died a ripe old age of 93 years. And here is where I have to stop and state yes, I know Quackwatch says Dr Linus Pauling is a quack for his amazing work with Vitamin C, so if you are someone that trusts Quackwatch, Snopes or any "fact checking site", please, just leave the blog now. It’s not for you.
So what happens if you take too much Vitamin C in a day? Your body will let you know by giving you a gurgle in your tummy. You will get loose stools and that is a clue you have reached the max of how much you take AT ONE TIME. It does not mean stop taking Vitamin C. It means slow down to where you don’t get the gurgle in your tummy and the loose stools. It means take less each time you take Vitamin C. So if 3000 mg of Vitamin C 3 times a day with meals gives you a gurgle in your tummy and loose stools, then you might want to consider backing down to 2000 mg or 1000 mg 3 times a day. It’s not a question of whether you should take Vitamin C 3 times a day, but how much vitamin C 3 times a day or maybe even more times per day.
The next question people ask is “can I just get my vitamin C from fruit and vegetables or just taking Rose Hip based supplements. Those who state this are usually the most healthy people who eat right and exercise and never take synthetic anything. Vitamin C is the exception to the rule. You WANT the “synthetic” form of Vitamin C - in ascorbic acid. (We will address that accusation of being “synthetic” in a minute.) The question becomes do you need to have it buffered with magnesium or sodium. (Cardiologist Thomas E. Levy, MD, says that the sodium in sodium ascorbate "does not appear to adversely affect hypertension or increase blood volume." He writes more about this here: https://www.peakenergy.com/health_ebytes/issue_9.php.) I don’t support buffered C with calcium and for the reason why, I suggest you get the book “Death by Calcium” by Dr Thomas Levy MD, Cardiologist or you could watch his Youtube video on it. But back to C. Those who do better with buffered forms are those with a sensitive tummy or children. The next questions is what form whether in gelatin capsules or tablet or powder in water or juice. That all depends on what form you get down. Vitamin C is commonly found as GMO based so you want to find one that is non GMO and at the same time, trying to find one that is in a Vegetable Capsule with zero fillers. That’s where it gets tricky trying to find a NON Porcine / Pig and NON Bovine / Cow hoof form of Vitamin C capsule. The bottle must say vegan or it has porcine and bovine gelatin.
Then there is the Liposomal form of Vitamin C which is packaged inside nano-scale phospholipid spheres ("liposomes"), much like a cell membrane protects its contents. The lipid spheres protect the vitamin C from degradation by the environment and are absorbed more quickly into the bloodstream. Liposomes are also known to facilitate intracellular uptake of their contents, which can cause an added clinical impact when delivering something such as vitamin C.
Liposomal form is supposed to be 5-10 fold more absorbable than straight ascorbic acid.
It is more expensive than ascorbic acid tablets or powder. Some say that 5000 mg of Liposomal is as effective as a Vitamin C IV for many conditions. It certainly is more affordable and obtainable. Some caution is with finding one that is effective and non contaminated. I’m not sure all Liposomal forms are effective and difficult finding an affordable NON GMO, NON CHINA form in Vegetable capsules. Now before you throw away your plain old ascorbic acid powder, please consider that plain old ascorbic acid power has been tested over 100 years as a ‘cure”, yes I braved saying cure, for many diseases. Andrew Saul explains it well:
“Vitamin C is ascorbic acid, C6H8O6, and that's pretty much all there is to it. If you really want to impress your friends, ascorbic acid can also be called (5R)-5-[(1S)-1,2-Dihydroxyethyl]-3,4-dihydroxy-2(5H)-furanone. As I liked to tell my university students, now there is something for you to answer when your parents ask what you learned in school today. Even if this molecule comes from GMOs, which I disapprove of, it is still molecularly OK. You cannot genetically modify carbon, hydrogen, or oxygen atoms. There are two ways the atoms can arrange themselves to make C6H8O6. One is ascorbic acid. The other is erythorbic acid, also known as isoascorbic acid or D-araboascorbic acid. It is a commercial antioxidant, but cannot be utilized by the body as an essential nutrient.”
So which form do I take? I take BOTH the ascorbic acid in a vegetable capsule form and a liposomal form because Ascorbic Acid is extracellular and Liposomal is Intracellular.
You might be wondering HOW Vitamin C works in order to be so effective?
This is what Dr Robert Cathcart III, MD says in his article "TREATMENT OF INFECTIOUS DISEASES WITH MASSIVE DOSES OF VITAMIN C”
"I want to emphasize first that the main reason that massive doses of vitamin C work against infectious diseases has little to do with the vitamin C functions as ordinarily understood. They work in massive doses because we are throwing away the vitamin C for the extra electrons carried. These extra electrons neutralize the free radicals (molecules missing electrons) that mediate all inflammations and cause the symptoms and deaths from these infectious diseases. It is not really a matter of medicine; it is a matter of chemistry. Doses of ascorbate which are massive enough to force a reducing redox potential into tissues affected by the disease will always neutralize the free radicals. For maintenance doses, take an amount of ascorbic acid that is comfortable for you about 4 to 6 times a day. Remember that the dose may vary depending on how you feel. The better you feel, you take less. The worse you feel, you take more. Always, always, always drink water with ascorbic acid by mouth! Never let yourself get seriously dehydrated which can happen if you are very nauseated from the illness or medication” (18).
When critics of Vitamin C in the “synthetic ascorbate” form say is that we should only get our Vitamin C from fruit and vegetables, I believe Dr Cathcart’s statement above perfectly explains why this is not so. The infections today in the average person are too much for nutritionally depleted fruit and vegetables of 2020 to overcome infection and disease. I believe Max Gerson had extraordinary success in the mid 1900’s using carrot juice with cancer because the carrots were loaded with nutrition and today’s carrots are not. Further people had stronger immune functioning. They were also far less toxic than today and the toxins were far less harmful. Now I eat a lot of vitamin C rich foods for the phytochemicals and for how delicious they are, but I don’t fight disease with them. You could not consume enough oranges to overcome the Flu, Pnumonia or the dreaded Coronavirus.
Please don't misunderstand me. We should eat lots of organic fruits and vegetables. But they do not do what Vitamin C can do to prevent and overcome infection.
If I were to poll 100 people on the street, and ask them what they should do to not get the “flu” or coronavirus, I bet the number one answer would be “get the flu vaccine” or the upcoming “Coronavirus vaccine”. When you compare the efficacy and safety on vaccines vs vitamin C, Vitamin C wins with over 20,000 powerful case studies and zero deaths or harm from Vitamin C. (19) It has been known for over 100 years that vitamin C is the cure for the common cold. Unfortunately, that knowledge is obliterated by the mainstream medical association and big pharma simply because there is no profit in Vitamin C and certainly no control.
"The common cold is a coronavirus, and SARS is a coronavirus, so they are the same viral type." (David Jenkins, MD, Professor of Medicine and Nutritional Science, University of Toronto) (6)
In the same article it is said by Robert F. Cathcart: " All this talk about a vaccine is too late; a waste of time now, especially when we know how to cure the disease already. Every flu I have seen so far (since 1970) has been cured or ameliorated by massive doses of ascorbate. All of these diseases kill by way of free radicals. These free radicals are easily eliminated by massive doses of ascorbate. This is a matter of chemistry, not medicine. The time has come to stop hiding our ability to treat these acute infectious diseases with massive doses of ascorbate.” (6)
"Vaccines are being used as an ideological weapon. What you see every year as the flu is caused by 200 or 300 different agents with a vaccine against two of them. That is simply nonsense” Tom Jefferson, MD epidemiologist (13)
For over 100 years, plain old “synthetic” ascorbic acid won the battle over and over again. I suggest you do both. Eat right and take Vitamin C supplements.
As enormous as mainstream medical and big Pharma are, I do believe truth will prevail, but in in small amounts and in random places. Right now we can see little windows of natural health opening up. I’m just not sure how long those windows will stay open to let light in. Would you believe it was announced today February 13, 2020 that China is conducting a clinical trial of 24,000 mg/day of intravenous vitamin C to treat patients with coronavirus and severe respiratory complications? (Sure would be nice if they would just follow Dr Cathcart’s proven protocol, but it's a start in the right direction.)
“Participants will receive IV vitamin C for 7 days straight at Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University. Honor and thanks are due to Zhiyong Peng, MD, for making this happen. He is chief physician and professor at the hospital, which is close to ground zero for coronavirus. This important study was filed and announced yesterday and details may be confirmed at https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT04264533."
So what are the other things you could do besides eating right, colon hydrotherapy as needed to keep the liver / intestinal tract healthy, and getting ample rest, exercise and stress reduction?
The #2 thing to not get sick is to take 3 super immune building supplements; Magnesium, Vitamin D and Zinc in higher quantities than the FDA recommends.
Magnesium: I take nightly 400 mg daily in chelate or chloride form. Ask your doctor or self doctor how much you might want to take. Citrate form is just used as a laxative by the body so not going to give you that immune boost you are seeking. A very cheap and highly beneficial adjunct for any acute infection, especially viral, is oral magnesium chloride. Amazingly, just as intravenous vitamin C has been shown to cure polio, an oral magnesium chloride regimen has been shown to do the same thing, as or even more effectively than the vitamin C. Do you have my book “Gastra Girl, Saving America One Colon At A Time”? In it I have an excellent article on the wonders of magnesium chloride by Dr Walter Lust that fully explains how incredible this form of magnesium is. The problem is it’s taste. If the taste is too salty/bitter, you might try it in a favorite juice. Another form is Magnesium Glycinate and a plant based brand that combines it with 2 other forms of Magnesium is Innate Response Magnesium 300. It is called 300 for the over 300 functions in the body that require magnesium. You will find it is relaxing to the nervous system and great to take before bed. The brand Calm makes a magnesium glycinate capsulated form with lavender oil and lemon balm that is also nice to take before bed to help you sleep. If take too much magnesium you will definitely get sludge like waste. Funny how the critics of vitamin C make such a fuss over loose stools if take too much C but I never hear them cry about the loose stools when take too much Magnesium!
Vitamin D3: This is a tricky one because it is fat soluble and you can take too much. However, most people are incredibly deficient and might do well taking a high does for a few weeks and then dropping down to a maintenance dose. When sick you might consider a super high dose for a few days. Vitamin D is stored in the body for long periods but takes a long time to reach an effective level. If you are deficient (e.g. if you haven't taken vitamin D and it's near the end of winter when the sun is low in the sky) you can start by taking larger than normal doses for 2 weeks to build up the level quickly. The maintenance dose varies with body weight, 400-1000 IU/day for children and 2000-5000 IU/day for adults. (6).
Again, Innate Response is my favorite plant based brand with K2 in it.
Zinc: is a powerful antioxidant and is essential for many biochemical pathways. It has been shown to be effective in helping the body fight infections. (14). Don’t believe its important with the common cold, flu or coronavirus? PubMed Abstract: “Zinc is known to play a central role in the immune system, and zinc-deficient persons experience increased susceptibility to a variety of pathogens.” (14) You might want to consider BioPure Core with 6 nutrients in it including Zinc.
What would be the 3rd thing you could do to not get sick?
Similar to getting regular colonics, the 3rd thing is to clean the nasal passages nightly with a Nettie pot!
This little 3 minute routine will save you a lot of misery and should be done anytime you are noticeably exposed to sickness such as when you fly, go to a doctors office, walk in grocery store, or other public places during “flu season”. Now I have many opinions on why there is a “flu season” that I'm not going into in this short blog, but the main point is whenever you think you might have been exposed, do a nightly Nettie pot. Along with washing your hands, this is a powerful tool to not get sick. Usually takes 3 days for most germs to incubate and take hold of your system. By rinsing the nasal passages and gargling you clean them out and prevent infection.
What should you put into the Nettie pot? During “flu season”, I combine warm pure non tap water, sea salt, about 5 drops of GSE Extract and 2 drops of Johnson and Johnson’s baby shampoo. The last one usually gets people to raise their eyebrows. That specific shampoo (Johnson and Johnsons) is to break up the microbe cell wall / biofilm. Shampoo has products called surfactants which loosen various oils and similar products. Many doctors recommend adding the surfactant when the mucus is colored or very thick in order to help remove thick mucus. (Caution: You might not want to use tap water and suggest you use pure water free of organisms such as distilled water). (15). You might even try carrying GSE Nasal Spray for convenient antimicrobial measures where you can not do the Nettie pot.
And as they say in New Orleans at restaurants when they give you another dish to try in addition to what you ordered, “Lagniappe”, which means: "a little something extra".
If I added a 4th thing to not get the Coronavirus it would be do a Relax Infrared Sauna session.
In just 20 minutes of Relax Sauna, you will sweat out toxins, stimulate greater lymphatic and blood circulation, relax your nervous system and muscles, take away that aching feeling and improve sleep. Most of all, if you are already sick, you will sweat out that infection and speed healing.
“In an Austrian study, 25 healthy subjects who regularly used saunas had significantly fewer episodes of common colds than those who did not. This benefit becomes more significant, especially after 14 weeks of consecutive sauna use. Therefore, in order to fully experience the immune-strengthening benefits of sauna use, you want to use it regularly, at least twice a week throughout the year.” (16) But, can it be effective in treating the the “common cold”, flu or dreaded coronavirus?
“Give me the power to produce fever and I'll cure all disease” Parmenides, 500 BC.
The main effect of the sauna is to cause hyperthermia. Fever is beneficial for the human body and helps it fight the viruses. By increasing the body temperatures, you will reduce the chances of the causative agent survives in your body. “Dr Andre Lwoff, French Virologist who got a Nobel Prize in 1965, had the theory that high temperatures combat the growth of the viruses during infection. Therefore, you shouldn’t bring the fever down with drugs. You can logically realize that raising the body temperature in the sauna may help that process. Also, with increasing the body temperatures, your nervous system will start sending the specific messages to your sweat glands. As a response, they will begin secreting sweat through your skin.” (17)
Like everything that is good for you, the mainstream medical association and big pharma have obliterated the science based evidence of Dr Linus Pauling, Dr Cathcart, Dr McCormick and so many others so that you will have to dig dig dig to find the truth. The internet is consumed by false information about the harms of using infrared sauna (as well as colon hydrotherapy and Orthomolecular Medicine) and the false allegation that there is no evidence for their use in immunity. But I would suggest you look at the Fins and Russians who have traditionally for hundreds of years used sauna therapy any time they started feeling sick. They would just sweat it out. And maybe, you could just try it! Not only is is good for you, it feels good!
